It may be me...er yeah, it isme but I really like Dexter, the tv show. I can hoot and holler and pull for the serial killer bad guy. So why is it that Michael C Hall marries Jennifer Carpenter, fake bro and sis on the show, and THAT's what creeps me out? Urg.

Way too cool...Moleskine related. So...one of my favorite things is my Moleskine journal. I used to use a Franklin Planner, but honestly, after taking that class and feeling like I'd found a new religion, on later examination, I found I used just about 5% of any given page of my planner. Then one day, I happened on Neil Gaiman's blog to read about Moleskine notebooks. Find the right obsessive and they'll tell you that it was used in Ancient Macedonia in place of parchment. (kidding). There are a lot of famous people who have used Moleskine notebooks (supposedly Hemingway and Fitzgerald among them). That was good enough. I bought into it, got one and have loved it ever since. Next time you see me, ask and I'll show you mine. And yes, I've already ordered my 2009 book.
Well, today I found a link to a Flicker picture site of someone who has done some amazing things with her Moleskine. If you don't dig on fantasy, or art, you can skip this. If you do to any degree, click here. If the author (who used to be the now defunct Nine Wave Designs Artist) were to publish that lovely volume, I'd buy it. In a second. And I'd love Molekines all the more for it.
By the way (it doesn't cost much, the way. Moleskines tend to be in mid $20 range), here is a discussion about Moleskines and here is a link to one of Gaiman's comments about his Moleskines, search for it... And here is Moleskine's webpage. No, I don't make a dime off it if you buy. No vested interest.

Not a lot of time...just a quickie post In today's post modernist world, its good to know that current trends can be used in multiple ways. For example, here's Lost by way of Facebook
And, for my medievalist friends (those who dig on Shakes the Speare), there's this from McSweeneys

Ok, ready to laugh? Do NOT play this in ear shot of young 'uns, bosses, sensitive people or Republicans. Do not play it if you can be offended. Don't play it if you think Claire from Heroes is ugly. Do not play it for the man in the horned rim glasses. Do not play it if you don't want to laugh. Do not play it...oh bloody hell. Just play the damned thing already. The Haitian will make sure you don't remember anyway.

Medievalists in Space! This is TOO cool. Wow! For those that don't know who Richard Garriott is, suffice it to say that he (and his Ultima series of video games) entertained me for YEARS. The primary king character in the series was someone called Lord British who rules the Ultima world known as Britannia, which (unsurprisingly) is how he is known in the SCA. Richard built a castle with all that money called Britannia Manor and hosts a haunted house there every year.
Richard paid the equivalent of $30,000,000 to the Russians and today, he was launched into space. Ironically, his father was an astronaut who (apparently) skirted outside the atmosphere in the 70s and took spy pictures of Russian military installations. And (apparently) they're letting his son (Richard) take the same pictures now, 30+ years later. The only difference is, Richard's in a Russian spacecraft on his way to the International Space Station. How cool is that?
Basically, the guy's lived the life I think I was always meant to have...

Hi all Sorry its been a while...I've been commuting like a madman. The morning commute is generally fine. I wake at 4, out the door at 5, make the 5:15 train to Penn, then Amtrak to Philly then another train to Center City. The way home is a bear. It averages between 3.5-4 hours. Does not make for a happy boy.
Oh, and in case anyone's interested...the press release about my new job...

Hi all
Sorry I haven't been posting...my work cut off access to LJ so the only time I get on is at night, and not much time then either. Don't think I haven't been thinking about y'all. In fact, I was thinking about YOU in particular. <smile...yes...you.>
Before I forget, SCIFI Channel is starting a new show tonight called Charlie Jaid. From what I've heard, its great. Supposedly it has the complexity and fascination of Lost, the people-friendliness of Doctor Who and neat special effects to boot. And I've heard the story line is incredible. Only one season was made, but they're betting that SCIFI will make it popular enough to continue the show. Of course, in true SCIFI TV channel fashion, they've done NO advertising whatsoever. Come on...join the grassroots movement! Please watch, so we've got something to talk about...
I may have an exciting announcement in coming days...watch this space!

For the Doctor Who Fans On My List
A couple of things worth mentioning: Doctor Who is coming back to SciFi on 04/18/08. Unfortunately, its not in HD, but hey, you can't have everything! Its Voyage of the Damned, and if you recall from last season, the Tardis is hit by the Titanic. Now..on Doctor Who we've got Rose (Billie Piper) and Jack (John Barrowman) and now we've got a Titanic. Sounds like Russell Davies is trying to remake Cameron's Titanic. Now all we need is Kathy Bates to show up in a guess starring role as Molly Brown (or even better, Annie "Cockadoodie Be Damned, I'm Paul Sheldon's Biggest Fan, you dirty bird" Wilkes) and we're good to go! Guess what 1980s villian is making a return? Oh, and guess who's apparently playing her? (look in the cut below) While on the guest stars, who else is rumored? Don't forget the Sarah Jane Adventures which kicks off this week in the US on BBC America on 04/11/08. This is for younger peeps or peeps like me that never quite grew up. You may remember Sarah from the Jon Pertwee/Tom Baker years (I do...I had a crush on her). You may remember her more recently when she showed up on the current version of Doctor Who. I still have a crush on her and its still not age appropriate. Sigh. Oh, K9 is along for the ride too. The Brits have been watching it since Jan 2007, now its our turn. BTW...no sonic screwdrivers here. Sarah has a sonic lipstick. Here's the BBC site. One observation. My friend Ross Ruediger (who I've met exactly once in New Orleans with his lady but we had a lot of fun hanging with them both) said that everyone's favorite Doctor is their first Doctor. He said so here and his blog is truely entertaining. For me...my favorite companion is all of them, except maybe Donna.Torchwood has 3 more episodes to go. Its been a good season...tune in to catch it!
Oh! And NOT Doctor Who related, but guaranteed to make the comics geeks go SQUEE!
